Justice Katamba Presided Over Butenga DCC Meeting

The Head of Circuit Masaka, Hon. Lady Justice Victoria Katamba Nkwanga, on Monday October 14, 2022 presided over a District Coordination Committee (DCC) meeting at Butenga Magistrate's Court, Bukomansimbi.
The meeting was attended by various DCC members including the DPP, RDC, DPC, CAO, Sub-county Chief, Mayors of different Town Councils in the district and other Local Government representatives.
Also in attendance was HW Sylvia Nvannungi, the Chief Magistrate Masaka, HW Natembo Aisha, the resident Magistrate Grade I Butenga and HW Kyegombe Enock Magistrate Grade I attached to the Chambers of Justice Katamba.
Hon. Lady Justice Katamba applauded the Chief Magistrate for organizing several DCC meetings in the jurisdiction. She also applauded HW Natembo for keeping Butenga Court in order and organized.
Hon. Lady Justice Katamba commended the Chief Justice's commitment to effort of ensuring that every Sub-county has a judicial officer which has enabled Bukomansimbi district have a substantive judicial officer who sits on a daily basis which wasn't the casebefore.
She applauded the members of the DCC for their continuous support in the administration of Justice but urged them to desist from interfering and compromising Judicial officers but let them work independently and Judiciously exercise their duties.
The Chief Administrative Officer of Bukomansimbi promised an acre of land to Judiciary and this will see court have an independent and bigger space as it is currently occupying Sub county structures.
The RDC, Ms JaneFrancis Kagayi, thanked the Judge for organizing the meeting and requested her to organize capacity building sessions for the Investigating Officers and members of the Local Council Courts. She also requested Judiciary to organize an open day at court to sensitize the general public on issues of law.
